Denholm Village website..
Denholm Village is situated in the Scottish Borders some 50 miles south of Edinburgh, and is 16 miles from the Scotland/England border at Carter Bar.
Hawick is the nearest large town which is 5 miles to the west and Jedburgh lies 6 miles to the east.
Denholm is laid around two Greens, with friendly shops and pubs and a Post Office. It lies within the ancient parish of Cavers.
Denholm, today, is a quiet village with two pubs, a Restaurant/Cafe, an Antique and Interiors shop, a butcher, a general store/Post Office, a hairdresser, a coffee shop and a garage. It has about 400 houses and is expanding all the time with new developments springing up on the outskirts of the village.
The village hall is available for rent for functions such as parties, weddings and groups who would like to make use of the facility on a regular basis.

DENHOLM & DISTRICT COMMUNITY COUNCIL (D&DCC)
The D&DCC meets monthly in Denholm Village Hall. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month (except August), starting at 7.00 pm. Members of the public are most welcome to attend; questions from the floor are normally addressed at the end of the meeting.
Within its constitution, the purpose and functions of the Community Council are stated to be to:
Ascertain, co-ordinate and express to the Scottish Borders Council and to other public authorities the views of the community it represents in relations to matters for which those authorities are responsible;
Make known within the community such information as may be received from SBC and other public authorities; and
Take such action in the interests of the community as appears to it to be expedient and practicable.
The Council shall be non-party in politics, and non-discriminatory and shall represent all persons in its area.
